[Opinions] Edmund. Wdyt?
I saw King Lear the other day and was blown away by the actor playing Edmund. I think it's a direct consequence that I've started liking the name a lot in the last couple of days.
What do you think of Edmund? As well as having the Lear character and Edmund Blackadder, there's also the third Pevensie kid in the Narnia books, but they're the only namesakes I can think of right now. Oh, and maybe Edmond Dantes from The Count of Monte Cristo, too.
I did a few combinations for fun. Wdyt of
Edmund Rowan
Edmund Nicholas
Edmund Alexis
Edmund Aneurin
Edmund Llewellyn
Edmund Alan
Edmund Rainier
Edmund Anthony
Edmund Gabriel
Edmund Lucian
Any suggestions would also be welcome :)

I adore the name Edmund especially since Edmund Bertram is the hero of my favorite author, Jane Austen's novel Mansfield Park. Fanny Price (the heroine) says this of his name which I strongly agree "But there is nobleness in the name of Edmund. It is a name of heroism and renown; of kings, princes, and knights; and seems to breathe the spirit of chivalry and warm affections.”
Anyway I really like it and think it needs another strong handsome name to go with it. For those reasons I wouldn't pair Rowan Anthony, Gabriel, Aneurin or Rainier with it as they are either too popular, or too cute for Edmund's classy style and sophistication.
Edmund Nicholas ~ strong, masculine, princely, love it!
Edmund Alexis ~ very royal sounding but Alexis almost always reminds me of Historic Russian heir Alexis Romanov (Duchess Anastasia's brother) so I picture a weak little boy.
Edmund Llewellyn ~ while both are strong and handsome, Llewellyn somehow seems too musical next to Edmund, a bit too flighty.
Edmund Alan ~ nice strong names though the flow is a bit off.
Edmund Lucian ~ strong and handsome, I like this almost as much as Nicholas. :)
Other MNs:
Edmund Oliver

It's an okay name, very strong and powerful, yet has a lot of dignity and class. I wouldn't consider it as a fn, but for sure as a mn.
I like:
Edmund Rowan (I would actually name a kid this, I love the name Rowan!)
Edmund Aneurin (very appealing after I figured out how to pronounce it!)
Other Suggestions:
Edmund Nolan
Edmund Rylan
Edmund Aeron

Mmmm... I'm totally going for Edmund Llewellyn. Edmund Lucian is also quite nice, though I think I prefer Edmond. It has the same distinguished sound, but not the -mun-, which I dislike. It needs a good, regal name to go with it.
