[Opinions] American Related Names
Lately, I've been really liking Lincoln and Indiana, and to me they are way American and I am not even American. And they are two boy names, which I never find any boy names I like. What are your opinions? My Babies !!!!!: Morgaine, Arthur, Vivianne, Lancelot, and Guinevere

I'm not fond of Indiana (for a boy or girl). I love Lincoln and have always felt Abraham Lincoln should be honored more, he was such a great president.

I don't care for either. Lincoln is too surname-y, and Indiana is a place name, which I care for very few only, and I don't find it at all masculine (and to say it was Indiana Jones' name is wrong, as his "real" name was Henry; he took the name Indiana from his dog - haha). Liking American names are OK, even if you're not American.

Indiana - too Indiana Jones to me
Lincoln - I've only see it used on girls, but either way I don't really care for it (although I like other presidential surnames like Kennedy, Truman, Harrison, Madison, Clinton, Regan).

I love Lincoln with the nn Link for a little boy. Its on my list. And yes, I think it feels very American. Indiana feels pretty darn American too but it feels like girl's name to me and I wouldn't use it because although it has a pretty sound, Indiana is a really boring state.

I think Liberty, Eric, and Erica are all very American names. Also trendy names, like Taylor, or hillbilly names like Billy-Jo. Well, that's what I think ^_^ I'm not saying there are many hillbillies in America..but, you know. lol.*Cody*Michelle*

Being American I definitely associate the name Lincoln with the 14th president.I like Indiana though; I find place names to be incredibly beautiful.

Thought Abraham Lincoln is a big part of US history, I don't see it as an American name, more as a surname-name. I like this name.Indiana, being a place on the other hand, is very American to me. It's not a name I'm fond of myself.
