I think twin names should have nothing to do with one another. No same first letter initial, same meaning, same theme, form of the same name, etc., and I think their middle names should have nothing to do with one another, too. It's too cutesy, childish, and immature (that whole nickname thing you've listed made me gag - sorry to be blunt, but that's the tip of immatureness, and I find it awful - again, sorry for being blunt). Naming twins is not a game, and they deserve to be individuals, and not plagued with a name that further mimics their sibling. They share so much already, and their name should not be an added identicalness.
