I wouldn't name my kid
Shoshana because it is pretty much only used by Jews (which I am not). It would be like me naming my child
Mohammad, even though I am not Muslim.
As for
Sarah,
David,
Michael, I would use them (well, I wouldn't because I just don't like the names
Sarah and
David), because they are bibilical and generally popular English names.
same goes for ethnic names- while I like common names such as Kierstin (
German), I'd draw the line at naming my child something like
Svetlana (as beautiful as it is), because I'm not Russian.
