I don't care much for the name Lotus, myself. It doesn't sound feminine or appealing in any way to me. When I saw this post though, I thought of a name that means lotus that I absolutely love. It made me think of the name Padma. I remembered that there is a character in Salman Rushdie's Midnight's Children named Padma, and the narrator constantly refers to her as his "lotus" because that is what her name means. I like the name Padma. I don't think I would use it, as it is a very ethnic name, but I still love it nonetheless.
