The first thing that pops into my head is not ''gay, gay, gay'', but rather the unbearable 70s disco hit I Will Survive by Gloria Gaynor. If I hear one more rendering of it on some local Idol show, one more karaoke performance in a movie, one more cover version of it, unless it's as anemic as the Cake version, I'm going to lose it. Well, maybe not, but I've really had it with that horrible track, and it's considered a gay anthem, and it's always played in some movie. And, of course, the ''gay'' part would lead to teasing, needless to say.
I pronounce it "GIE-nor"; that's how the Welsh would say it, as well as the variant "Gaenor".

Jennifer is not an English form of Gaynor. Jennifer is Cornish for Gaynor and also happens to be my grandmother's name.
