It looks like it should be pronounced ''brie-AN'', and no name with the first syllable of ''Bry'' should be used on females. Even if you pronounce this like Brianne, the name isn't exactly great. Bah, it's so dull! There are so many Briannas and Briannes out there, and the name really isn't very mature or elegant.

MY name, is Brianna, and I already don't like the spelling Bryanna (blech) for my name, and Brianne and Breanne aren't my favorite names. Personally, I can't say I like the name Bryanne, but that's just my opinion.

This isn't the feminine form of Bryan - it's a variation of Brianna/Breanna. I would know because it's my name.

It IS connected to Brian in a way, though. Brianna is simply the female equivalant of Brian, and Bryanne comes from Brianna.
