Meaning & History

French form of Antiochus (masculine), as well as an ancient Greek feminine form of Antiochos (note, the usual feminine form was Antiochis). In Greek mythology Antioche, also called Antiope, was a daughter of Pylon and wife of Eurytus, by whom she became the mother of the Argonauts Iphitus and Clytius.
