Meaning & History
An inscription on a cliff in Manti was written by someone who called himself Mahanti, the second king of the Lamanites. It was dated about A.D. 600, which would have been centuries after the Lamanites came into being. One explanation posed for this is that he could have been the second king of a specific group of Lamanites. The name appears to be connected to MAHAN and MANTI.
