From Arabic زُغْلُول (zuḡlūl) which is both a noun meaning "a young infant, boy" and an adjective meaning "young and active, quick". In Egyptian Arabic it also means "squab, young dove". In Egypt it is occasionally used as a given name, but is more commonly a surname (see Zaghloul).
