Meaning & History
Meaning unknown. In Arthurian mythology Maleagant is the son of King Bagdemagus or Baeddan (the two characters may be one and the same). He abducts Queen Guinevere and imprisons her in his stronghold of Glastonbury until Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table rescue her. In later legends his role is largely taken over by Mordred.
