This is the Western name of Bowser, a turtle-like creature and main antagonist of the Super Mario franchise, debuting in the 1985 game Super Mario Bros. His name in Japanese version of the game is is クッパ (Kuppa) and the reason for changing it in the Western versions remains unknown.
