The root is 'zora' like in my name, means as it is said 'dawn', but it is etymologically Slavic. There are many names with that root: Zora, Zorana, Zoran (male), Zorka. Zoraida is not very common in Serbia, but my grandmother had that name. Zornjaca means 'morning star', i.e. Venus.
Had never heard of the name Zoraida until today, it's so pretty.
I think Zoraida is a gorgeous name. I love that it begins with an edgy “Z”, and its meaning, “enchanting dawn” is uniquely beautiful. This name sounds so elegant and poised, and I can see it aging well. Overall, I think Zoraida is a lovely name.
