Meaning & History
According to Georgian sources, this name is derived from a (presumably archaic) Georgian word that means "blinking". However, there is a Russian source that states that the name is a Georgian form of Julia. Last but not least, there is also an English source that says that at least in modern Georgian, ჟუჟუნა (zhuzhuna) is a regular word that means "sun shower" (as in, a rain shower that occurs while the sun is shining).
