Zelimkhan (Зелимхан) Abakarov (Абакаров), born in 1993, is a Russian-born Albanian wrestler. He is a gold medalist at the 2022 World Wrestling Championships. He is the first wrestler representing Albania to win a gold medal at the World Wrestling Championships. He is also a gold medalist at the 2022 Mediterranean Games and a silver medalist at the 2021 Islamic Solidarity Games. He won a silver medal at the 2024 European Championships in Bucharest and he will represent Albania at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
Zelimkhan "Zelim" Bakaev (1992-2017) was a Chechen pop singer who was kidnapped by Chechen authorities due to anti-homosexual persecution. He was reportedly tortured in captivity by officials and was later presumed to be dead on August 8, 2017.

The first element of the name, "Zelim", is derived from the Arabic word "ظالم (zalim)" meaning "oppressor" or "cruel, unjust".
Zelimkhan Yandarbiyev was the president of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria during its secession from Russia. He was also a writer and politician, and had been in exile before getting killed in Qatar.
