For a boy this makes me think of a very feminine guy who probably wants to be a girl. Not a good name for a boy at all. For a girl, it makes me think of a sensitive girl who cries after she gets teased. Not a good name for either gender.

There is an anime I was watching called "Vampire Knight" and there is a little girl that just got adopted and her dad named her Yuki. He said that it meant beautiful princess. But even if that's not what it means it's still a pretty name.

There was also Yukio from Blue Exorcist/ Ao no Exorcist and Yuuki from Future Diary/ Mirai Nikki although they don't spell their names exactly as Yuki.

It means kind, gentle, princess, I know because it's my name.

This is an equally pretty name for both boys and girls, although I could never use it, because I am American, and people would just think I am a thoughtless otaku. I always think of Yuki Sohma from Furuba, who was nicknamed "Yun-Yun" (which I love) by his friend, Nabe-chan.
Yuki Nagato is the bibliophile alien sent to observe Haruhi from the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. As xxxmidori pointed out there is a song called Yuki, Muon, Madobe Shite which is her character song.
That is because Japanese word "Yuki" (雪、 snow) has nothing to do with "yuuki" (勇気、 courage). ;) As for names, of course, there can be various meanings depending on the kanjis used.
In Gravitation (shounen-ai/boy love/yaoi manga), one of the main protagonists is Eiri Yuki, a romance novelist. In Fruits Basket (shoujo manga), one of the main protagonists is Yuki Sohma, who is the rat in the Zodiac and is soft-spoken and gentle. (Also a boy.)Yuki, Muon, Madobe Nite is a theme song for the anime The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.Yuki is a very common Japanese name and can be used for a boy or a girl. It means "snow".
At first, I thought that Yuki was a boy's name because of Yuki from Fruits Basket (he was the first person, real or fictional, that I knew as having the name). I think Yuki is a cute name for both genders, though probably a child with the name Yuki ought to be a girl, because apparently it's really a girl's name. If I were going to name something Yuki, it would probably be a character in a story or a pet (probably a rat, because of Yuki from Fruits Basket).
Also, this is the name of famous female Japanese songwriter Yuki Kajiura, who has composed for anime such as Hack, Tsubasa Chronicle, My-HiMe and Noir. She is also credited for game soundtracks Blood: The Last Vampire and Xenosaga.
Eiri Yuki (or Yuki Eiri if you want it the proper Japanese way) is a main character in the manga and anime Gravitation. He's a romance novelist with a rock-star boyfriend (and, despite this description, not effeminate).
There was a character in the Everworld series by K. A. Applegate named Miyuki, a Japanese girl that Jalil was fond of. According that book, Miyuki means "deep snow".
Yuki alone and with two characters can be a guy's name as well. Yuki written with the characters for "gentle, best" and "hope" is on the Top 100 for boys and also quite common for girls. [noted -ed]
Used alone for a girl's name or as part of either a boy's name or a girl's name (boys who are just Yuki are actually Yuuki if it's not short for something). For boys, they use just one kanji to make up the "yuki" portion of their names (if they have yuki in their names). For girls, it can be one or 2."yuki": -happiness/luck -snow -this -go"yu": -freedom -together/friend (this character is usually pronounced "tomo" though) -bear (produce... as in "bear fruit") -kind/smart -play"ki" -joy -honour/respect/worship -writings -turtle (rare in names these days)Girls' names with "yuki": Yuki Yukie Yukiko Yukino Yukimi Yukiyo Miyuki (another pronunciation for the character for happiness/good luck)Boys' names with "yuki": Kazuyuki Katsuyuki Kuniyuki Shigeyuki Takayuki Tomoyuki Toshiyuki Nobuyuki Noriyuki Hideyuki Hiroyuki Masayuki Matsuyuki (had a student with this name... using kanji for pine-snow) Motoyuki Yukio Yukihiro Yukimasa Yoshiyuki
Yuki is usually a nickname of the real name Yukitro, but sometimes Yuki can be used as a real name.

If anyone reading here likes the Japanese form of comics (manga and anime), then you probably already know that the name has been used for a series called 'Fruits Basket', and is the nickname for 'Yukito' in Cardcaptor Sakura. Personally I think it's a lovely name!
