Yeesh, save your negativeness for another day! A person's personality isn't determined by their name. This name sounds nice. And also, you might want to look at the definition, because Wisdom means to make good choices.
My name is British Wisdom and I have problems when it comes to introducing my name, especially to British people because it's kinda awkward having a nationality for a name. Back to Wisdom, the thing is that I really love it when people call me Wisdom. I took my name seriously and began living a life of Wisdom and understanding, I think the name really did change my personality as I matured.
This name should be listed as being in the category 'Books of the Bible' like Amos and Genesis. Some Bibles omit this book, but the Catholic Bible includes it. The same goes for the name Judith. [noted -ed]

Naming a a child Wisdom?Good in concept, it being an ultimate quality to have, bad in reality. It's a CHILD you are naming, not a Satellite or a Mars Rover or a star or a planet or a tooth. You gave your child a life, congrats, but please don't mock it. Just like Communism or Socialism. Good on paper. But you cannot run a country with these idealistic concepts.
I think the name Wisdom is beautiful. If one may not be so wise, what greater name can help the unwise become wise than to know God's love is there for them in that beautiful word, Wisdom. We may forget; yet, the love and Wisdom of God recalls who and why one loves God, no matter how wise one seems to be; there is no greater Wisdom than that love of God in one's own life, and faith in something more than what is understood to humanity.
I just want to give a shout-out to Wisdom64's comment; that is so true and so beautifully stated. In fact, I felt the presence of The Holy Spirit even just reading those words. God's love truly is the greatest Wisdom. And Wisdom is a beautiful name, as well.
What most people find ridiculous is not the meaning of the name, but rather the pronunciation as related to the name... That's understandable, like the example above, a mum yelling, "Wisdom, let's go!", might cause a laugh or two, but that doesn't with-hold the fact that after a careful thought, it ends up a cute name. Those who bear the name tend to be self conscious as they grow up! They come to the realization that society expects a superiority from them. Now most of them turn to act towards that and turn to be very intelligent people (in one thing or the other). In my case, I got into the university at 16 and did a double major (Computer science and Physics) with minimum GPA of 3.8 /4.0... I'm now 19 and have 3 awards from my college. The drive to keep up with society's perception of the name, produced a drive to increase my knowledge database. Let all the Wisdom's be proud (This one is! :D) Cheers!
My son is called Wisdom and I am proud of his name, and I must say he suits his name and everybody loves the name. As for being wise, hopefully with the correct upbringing he will be able to make the correct decisions in life and BE WISE.Better than being called jack e.g. and 10 kids run at you, lol.
My name is Ion Wisdom and I'm constantly told how cool my name is. Sooooo I would say that it probably works better as a surname but it tends to work even better if you have a weird/cool first name.

I think it's a nice name. It sounds much more pleasant then most.
This isn't a 'sunflower' name, Wisdom is very common in the Native American heritage and is normally a family name. It's different and unique and not very cookie cutter, not everyone is going to like the name but must we bash it?
Back in the era of the Pilgrims, we often named children after values such as Patience or Hope. This appears to be the same idea but stretched beyond sanity. How is this even a name? Wouldn't you look beyond meaning for once and notice the sound? When we think wisdom, some may think smart or wise, but many connect that with bearded elderly men (nothing against wisdom itself or those wise elderly men). I myself would always think of wisdom teeth. Neither is desirable. I would also like to take this chance to say that I mean no offense to anyone and would like to apologize to any who took it.

Wisdom has nothing to do with being smart. It means knowing the right thing to do and doing it. Maybe if some people had a name like this they wouldn't wind up blowing people up or shooting people.

Why do I have the feeling that only stupid people would name their kid Wisdom?
Wisdom may be a valuable thing to have, but as a name, it sounds plain bizarre. Now, picture a parent shouting to their child: ''Wisdom, let's go!''. With your hand on your heart, would you not laugh? Would you not roll your eyes? Just imagine if Wisdom turns out stupid and obnoxious. This is quite a name to live up to. Other kids would surely make fun of a kid named Wisdom.
Once again, I find a, to me, normal word that is turned into a name, and I'm starting to get fed up with it. Words like Sunshine, Happy, Flower, Rainbow and Love are nice words to me but are not names. I wish people would stop confusing words with names and torturing their children with it. I have a friend called Joy but I think that one's not so bad. Not to mention we're Dutch so we don't use it as a word like English speaking people do.I'd also like to say that of all these words/names, Wisdom is definitely the most ridiculous one I've seen yet.
