Meaning & History
Transferred use of the surname Weedon. This was borne by the English actor and writer Weedon Grossmith (1854-1919), full name Walter Weedon Grossmith. It was also borne by Weedon Osborne (1892-1918), a U.S. Navy Dental Surgeon who was killed in World War I while carrying a wounded officer to safety on June 6, 1918, at age 25 years; he was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor, America's highest military decoration.
