My (german) grandfather's name was Walther. I think it sounds very noble and impressive.
I'm using this name as a second name when I have a son :)

German origin. Our family hand-me-down story of our name was that a baby was abandoned near a wood in northern Germany and was taken in by a couple who named him Walther. The German meaning was Walt=tree and her=lord or master.
