Wacław is a character in Aleksander Fredro's "Zemsta"(Revenge), a famous Polish comedy written in the 1830s.
This was the given name of the Polish-Russian ballet dancer Wacław Niżiński, who greatly influenced the aesthetics of pre-WWI Europe.
