Since the war in Ukraine this has become my favorite variant of the name Vladimir. I love the sound of it and because of Zelinsky I will associate the name with strength and bravery in the face of war. The name radiates strength anyway but the Zelinsky association makes it all the more powerful.
I definitely like this a lot better than Vladimir, since Zelenskyy is a much better association than Putin. Zelenskyy makes me proud to be one-eighth Ukrainian.
This is the name of a certain Ukrainian president, times were tough and he could be assassinated at any moment so America offered him an evacuation route which he firmly denied, replying that he was more interested in improving his army rather than his own life. While one may not agree on everything he's done in his time in the office, but to call him cowardly would be complete blasphemy, the man is literally fighting with his army as another soldier, a thing that has basically never happened in the 21st century. His bravery is unquestionable, and so is the morale boost he gives to his citizens, army, and all of the people that reside in his country, boosting the already tremendous determination of his people to keep their states integrity intact. This name means "famous ruler" but should and due to his influence probably will be synonymous with "bravery" and "fearlessness".
Volodymyr Oleksandrovych Zelenskyy (Володи́мир Олекса́ндрович Зеле́нський) is, at the time of writing this comment, the current president of Ukraine. Before politics, he was a comedian, actor, screenwriter, film producer, and director. At this time, he made a TV series called "Servant of the People" where he played a history teacher who later became the president of Ukraine. He even named his party after the TV series.
Some Ukrainians pronounce the v in Volodymyr as as /v/ and not as /w/.
