This is short of Valpuri, which is the Finnish form of Walburga, rather then being the Finnish form itself. [noted -ed]

Hah, when I was a kid, I wished this or some other ''cute'' name was my name. Now I just don't even like the sound of this name, and this is what May Day is called in Finland, so the name would always be associated with May Day celebration. The name sounds quite youthful, even though this is not exactly a modern name. It's not very mature or serious somehow.
