Unusual name, not common. I like this name! Ulla is interesting, simple and elegant. Maybe a good alternative for Ella, which is more common? While Ulla may seem little bit harsh, it still feels like a good name.
This name was very common in Sweden in the 40's and 50's, but is rarely used on children today, probably because it takes a while for a name to become popular again, but also because it rhymes with lots of Swedish, words, some of them nasty.
My mom's name. I don't think it's pretty at all. My mother doesn't like her name either. She always thought it sounded "round", and because she had round cheeks as a child, she hated it.
