Ulf or Wulf (fl. 1067 – 1087) was an English noble. He was the son of Harold Godwinson, King of England. He was captured during the course of the Norman conquest of England, and imprisoned in Normandy, being released only at the death of William the Conqueror.
My father's name is Ulf. He is Norwegian. It is pronounced just like wolf without the "w". It means "Wolf". And it is a very common name back home in Scandinavia. My children are first generation Americans. I married a U.S. Marine and we named our youngest son Ulf Magnus.
