Ubaldo is a noble name in Italy with an interesting and religious history. My grandfather was named Ubaldo, and I received it as a middle name at baptism. The links below will tell the story better than I, however of particular note is that Saint Ubaldo was canonized a saint in 1160AD in the mountain town of Gubbio, Italy. The people of Gubbio have been celebrating every May 15 which is "Saint Ubaldo Day" or "Festa dei Ceri", a huge festival bringing people from all over the world to celebrate that week. The highlight event is the "Race of the Saints" described in the links below. The young men that train for the event carry 900 pound statues of the saints as they race through the town to the top of the mountain to the basilica that has the entombed body of St Ubaldo, and the party goes on. It is a bucket list event for any Italian blooded American. Enjoy! https://www.italyguides.it/en/umbria/gubbio/travel-guides/travel-tips/festival-of-the-ceri https://youtu.be/O6Ruqm8969M
