Toon is a short form of Antoon and Antonius - not a diminutive. If it were a diminutive, the name would have contained one of the Dutch diminutive suffixes, namely -ke and -tje (resulting in respectively Toonke and Toontje).

I laughed when I saw this in the database. It doesn't sound like a name. It also makes me think of those creepy manchild cartoon reviewers who take cartoons way too seriously.

How about you name your kid Nicktoon or Cartoon and call them Toon for short. This is a silly name. Normally I compliment names, but not every name.
