I actually think this name sounds cool! I wouldn’t name my son this because it’s way too unknown but I would actually use it for an anime character. I love it!

The root of the name Tomislav comes from the Latin word dominus, meaning master or lord. Therefore Tomislav means Lord of the Slavs or Slavic Master (Dominus Slavus). The name was given to Croatia's first king by his allies. The Slavs then adjusted it to their own language putting together the words Dominus and Slavus but mispronouncing the first letter "d" as "t", thus creating the name Tomislav.

Tomislav is an old Slavic name. It consists of two words: tomi- (from the Slavic verb 'tomiti' which means to torture) and -slav (which comes from Slavic word 'slava' which means glory or fame, what you already mentioned). The name was given to a saint today known as saint Thomas or in Slavic version 'sveti Tomo' (the surname is Akvinski). Literally, Tomislav means 'the one who is famous for being tortured'.
