A few years ago I thought this name was ugly and I didn't like its sound but today this is one of my favorite names and I think it's one of the best names anyone can name a daughter, it not too common, it's strong, elegant, powerful, with cute nicknames like Teddy, Dora, Teo, Dolly...
I also think the meaning is wonderful, very special to me, because a daughter is a gift from God, so there would be no better name than this. I like both Teodora and Theodora spellings.

This name is quite dignified yet fun. It's someone who knows when to be serious but also has lighthearted and creative moments. It's historical but also fits in well with the modern world. It happens to be my elder sister's name which makes me like it even more.
Teodora Poštič is a Slovenian figure skater. She is a four-time (2006–09) Slovenian national champion and reached the free skate at four ISU Championships – three Europeans and one Junior Worlds. By placing fifth at the 2009 Nebelhorn Trophy, she qualified a spot for Slovenia in the ladies' figure skating event at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. She placed 27th at the Olympics.
Teodora Bojović, born in Novi Sad, SR Serbia, living in Belgrade, is a Serbian singer and songwriter. She used to be a TV show host before starting her singing career, but today mostly focuses on her job as a music professor in Belgrade.
The name is also used in Denmark, and Norway.
Teodora (501-548) was the wife of Justinian the Great (Justinian I) of the East Byzantine Empire. It was she (for all intents and purposes) who actually reigned in the Byzantine Empire during her husband's reign.
I prefer the spelling Teadora.

It's also used in Slovenia as a very rare name. ;)
It's the name of someone from my home town who left a huge impression on me. She was just so fresh and full of life and even though we lost touch, it feels like we just talked yesterday or something. Teodora is definitely one of those names that you never forget. I know I won't... If only I hadn't handled myself a little better when we were friends, then I probably would be with her right now instead of writing comments about names.
