Tahlia Rotumah is a Minjungbal (Indigenous Australian) and a South Sea Islander athlete. She was the first female Indigenous Australian Paralympian. Rotumah won silver medals in the 100m and 200m sprints at the 2006 Far East and South Pacific Games (FESPIC) held in Kuala Lumpur. At the age of 16, she competed in athletics at the 2008 Summer Paralympics in Beijing.
I like it. I like how the pronunciation is clear but it still doesn't look trendy or misspelled.I love the Greek, unrelated Thalia as well but the pronunciation issues would keep me from using it. THAY-lee-ah, TAH-lee-ah, tah-LEE-ah, tha-LIE-ah, THAYL-ya etc. Etc. - there are just too many possibilities. With Tahlia it's just clear that it's TAH-lee-ah (or tah-LEE-ah in rare cases) and it looks better than Talia. At least there are only two common pronunciations, with one being way more common, and it will just make her life a whole lot easier.

This is also an Arabic name, meaning "Girl/woman who recites the Quran often".
On NCIS, this was the name of Ziva David's little sister who was killed and she named her daughter this. On the show it's pronounced TALL-ee-yuh or TALL-ee-uh, and nicknamed Tali like TALL-ee not Tally. I did meet someone (in the real world) who pronounced it Tuh-LEE-uh or Ta + Leah.

I've never met someone with the name of Tahlia, or Talia, but I love the spelling of Tahlia, and the fluent sound of it. The fluency and simplicity of it is the beauty. It is definitely a feminine name. The only reason I know the name is because of Percy Jackson. It's an elegant name to fit a feisty, enraged, alert female. Personally, I know looks can't be judged when you're named, but I believe it would fit someone with black hair. Think of a Tahlia with blond? Uh, I don't know, but this is truly a name of meat and meaning.
Not a fan of this spelling. I think the spelling Talia looks the best.

I love my name, Tahlia. I've looked up the meaning on many sites. Yes it does mean "Morning dew of heaven" but in its original Hebrew, it usually means "Female lamb". My friends kindly laughed when I told them. My mother was infuriated because she grandly disliked the meaning and thought she invented the perfect name in a dream... I believe it's a name of beauty and think its cute that I am named a "female lamb"!
Tahlia Brookins was a contestant on he 12th season of America's Next Top Model, rather famous because she had burn scars all over her torso. She finished 8th out of 13 finalists.

We named our daughter this beautiful name. It is a Greek name and it means dew from heaven.
This is my name, and I pronounce it TAH-lee-ah (i.e., rhymes with the flower name, "dahlia"). Can't tell you how many times I've had to correct people: "No, not tah-LEE-ah."
It's uncommon in the English speaking world but relatively prominent in Greece & Israel.
