What a distinguished and imaginative name to honor majestic trees on both sides of the Atlantic. In Britain, ‘Sycamore’ typically refers to the Sycamore Maple (Acer pseudoplatanus), whereas in the United States, it often denotes the American Sycamore (Platanus occidentalis). I’m especially fond of the latter, whose leaves release a wonderfully fragrant aroma after a summer rain.
