As someone named Sparrow I can say that I have never gotten bullied because of it. If anything people think my name is awesome. Doesn't really help that my middle name is another bird lol. I have also never met another person named Sparrow so this platform is so cool! I think these comments are hilarious. Hello to all my fellow Sparrow fam out there. ;)
It seems like some people hate this name and think it is silly and stupid. I am nonbinary and chose this name for myself. I've just always felt a connection to this name. I love birds and wish I could be one. It's also kind of fun reading the hateful things people are commenting. I think it fits me and your mean words do nothing to dissuade me. I chose this name and I love it.
My name is Sparrow and I am a boy. I personally love my name though my personality does not fit one of a Sparrow I still find it a great name. I am not frail or Sparrow-like and I am quite energetic. I barely ever have problems with Jack Sparrow and I am never bullied because of my name.
It's a silly name. I don't think I like it but I will laugh at anyone with this name. My name is Mina, so my name is great but not Sparrow. Those people with the name Sparrow should fly.
My name is Sparrow and I just wanna say these comments are hilarious when you actually have the name Sparrow. Half the people love the name and half hate it. Also everyone says that it would only work for someone who is quiet and shy but I am tall and have bright pink short hair so I guess I am the opposite of what I should be and to be honest, I like that. Also my middle name is Victoria and I do think that fits well... I don't know. Well, carry on harassing my name ✌️.
My friend's middle name is this, personally maybe not as a stand alone name, but for him I think his name flows really well. It'd be fine on any gender, in my opinion, but you just have to find the right names to go with it.
I honestly think this name is pretty nice. I think it sounds better on a female more than a male. When I hear the name Sparrow, I imagine a strong and fearless girl. I don't think this name sounds bad at all. It's just not the best. I used it in a book one time. 'Sparrow Sinclair', I think.
I have used this for the name of a character (her full name was Sparrow Tigerlily). I would be hesitant to use it on a child, and I certainly wouldn't pair it with a nature name in the middle (like Tigerlily), but it can work.

Hi, my name is Sparrow. I'm a girl. Some people say that kids with this name will get bullied, I've never been bullied. Almost every person says that they like my name and that it's pretty. I think it could be used as a guy name but I think it sounds more feminine.
With this name, I am cut two ways. If the person is small and spindly with brown hair and dusty brown skin, if they are curious yet quiet, I can see it fitting. I can see it being perfect. But if they grow up strong and bright-cheeked, loud or dramatic or chubby... the name might just be an embarrassment. And when a child is born, you cannot know. I would use it in a story, maybe, when I have control over how they will grow.
I kind of like it, but it's too "out there" for me to use on a kid. And it reminds me of a bird.

This sounds stupid as a name. No wonder why Nicole Richie and her boyfriend went for this when naming their newborn son. There are names with similar meanings in other languages. And I also hate the association with the annoying Pirates of the Caribbean movies.
"Little Sparrow" is a song by Dolly Parton. From the song:Little sparrow, little sparrow Precious fragile little thing Little sparrow, little sparrow Flies so high and feels no pain.

I do agree that the name is good and would be great for twins. However, you have the same problem here as Sirius Black. Everyone will think of Captain Jack Sparrow when you call your kids name! *lol*Well, it could be worse I suppose, you could have three kids and their names could be: Captain, Jack, and Sparrow.
I don't think that this name is too bad for a girl, but definitely not for a boy. In both cases it conjours up images of someone weak, sickly and fragile for me.
Sparrow and Robin would be great name for twins, who would obviously be known as the bird twins.

Personally, I LOVE the name Sparrow! I have been practically obsessed with this name for the last few months. I thought that I had made it up as a name, but I'm kinda glad that I found it here. It will be a beautiful name for my future daughter one of these days!
