Meaning & History
Derived from Latin sibyllinus, meaning "of or pertaining to sibyls". This name was borne by Blessed Sibyllina Biscossi (1287-1367), who became blind at the age of twelve and received a vision of Saint Dominic which prompted her to join the order. Sibyllina then lived as an anchorite for 65 years in a church in Pavia, Italy.
