This is my middle name. I spell it with one "N". Spelling it with two "N"s makes the spelling more Americanized and no offense to anyone, but less pretty.
Fun fact: in 1948-1954 in Israel the name Rose/Roza was translated incorrectly, so people still to this day mistake the meaning Shoshana as Rose and not Lotus. (sorry if I have any mistakes)
In the Old Testament there are a few masculine names that derive from the same root as Shoshana. They are Sheshan (lily), Sheshai/Shashai (my lily or possibly lily of God), Shisha (alabaster), and Jeshishai (ancient of the Lord). Alternatively, you could choose a similar-sounding name like Shawn, or masculinize Shoshana by removing the A, turning it into Shoshan.

I have a good friend with this name. We call her Shosh or Shoshi for short. Interestingly, a Bulgarian classmate of ours told us that "Shosh" means "socks" in Bulgarian!
