This name means "pearl" and is a beautiful name with mysterious teenager vibes. But to my Japanese senses, the word "Shinju" sounds too inorganic and noble for a person's name.If you were to give this name to a boy, you would probably use the kanji for "神樹," which means "divine tree.

Shinju-chan is the virutual popstar in "Soullessly". She also doubles as the first and third boss.

The only person I ever met and know with this name is my second cousin and she is very young. It must be some super modern name that people usually won't know about.
This is also the Japanese word for a suicide pact between lovers. "Shinju" was the title of the first novel in Laura Joh Rowland's murder mystery series set in feudal Japan. Kinda grisly!
