Shelia Hoar Zahm is an American cancer epidemiologist specialized in pesticides and cancer, the etiology of non-Hodgkin lymphoma, and occupational cancer among women. She was deputy director of the National Cancer Institute's division of cancer epidemiology and genetics from 1998 to 2011.
Shelia R. Stubbs is an American politician, pastor, and former probation and parole agent. She was the first African-American woman to earn a doctorate in physics at the Alabama A&M University in 1994.

Yeah, this is definitely not pronounced like Sheila. Plus, it looks like "she Lia", as if someone with bad grammar was trying to introduce someone named Lia.

I would pronounce this SHEH-lee-uh but it's definitely not pronounced like Sheila.
While I do like the name Sheila, I don't like this spelling. The switching of the letters around makes me want to pronounce it differently. I pronounce Shelia "she-LEE-uh" instead of "SHEE-luh". And I find "she-LEE-uh" quite hideous.
This is apparently an Irish name meaning grey-eyed or blind.
