Seeing the negative comments about the spelling of my own name is quite disappointing. I love the spelling of my name. It makes a beautiful signature and I’ve always been told it’s a beautiful name. I personally love my name. I prefer it over my other name, Hope.

The "yly" makes this name dizzying and unbalanced. It's like "let's throw more ys in there, to up the trendy factor!" It makes a pretty sound, though, so if you really like it try "Shaelyn", "Shailyn", "Shaylin", or "Shaelin". I'll never like this name, but the other spellings greatly improve it.
Umm, I really think the only good way to spell Shaelyn is SHAELYN, not Shaylyn, Shaylynn, or any variant. This spelliung just looks ugly and unintelligent somehow. It's amazoing what difference one letter can make. The name itself sounds pretty, despite the railing against two-syllable names ending in -lyn. I suppose people would shut up if there was a third syllable, as they don't complain about Marilyn and Sherilyn, or one would think they wouldn't. I do dislike Braelyn, Kaylyn, and all the other ones, though, but in principle, names ending in -lyn aren't crap just because they end in -lyn! Carolyn ends in it too, and no one complains, right? As long as the first part is also a name, it's not that tacky. Okay, rant off.
