Séverine Piret is a well-known Belgian sculptor of reborn dolls, which are handmade lifelike baby dolls. Casts of her sculpts are sold by major reborn doll retailers, and she also paints and sells her own finished dolls.
In the 1967 film Belle de Jour, Catherine Deneuve plays a particularly sensual woman named Severine. Another usage is in the 2012 James Bond movie Skyfall, where Severine is one of Bond's love interests. It seems to be the feminine form of the name Severin, which is the main character of the erotic novel Venus in Furs. It also seems like the name is usually used for femme fatale characters.
