Séraphîta is possibly a variant of Seraphina. Séraphîta is the heroine of Honoré de Balzac's 1837 novel called 'Séraphîta', which explores themes of androgyny. In the novel Séraphîta is actually portrayed an androgyne known as Séraphitüs-Séraphîta, appearing as a woman to some people and a man to others.
