Savitri Ganesan (born Nissankara Savitri; 1935 – 1981) was an Indian actress, playback singer, dancer, director, and producer known for her works primarily in Telugu and Tamil cinema. She had also worked in Kannada, Hindi and Malayalam films. She starred in more than 250 films over three decades. She was one of the highest-paid and most popular Indian actresses of the 1950s, 60s, and early 70s. She is known by the epithets Mahanati (transl. The great actress) and Nadigaiyar Thilagam (transl. Doyen of all the actresses).

This is my personal view, on the Indian girl's name Savitri. The kind of girls that have this name are honest, peacemaking, lovely, cute, socially kind type of people.

I really like this name not only because it is unique, but because one of my best friends is named that. At first everyone thought that it was just the weirdest name and no one could pronounce it (suh-VEE-chree) but once everyone got used to it, it just seemed like another name, but really special and unique.
