Saraswati Vidyardhi (born 1 May 1963) is a Carnatic vocalist and composer from Andhra Pradesh, India. She has won critical acclaim for her intensive research in Anumandra sthai (octave). She is capable of singing notes below the mandra shadjam up to the anumandra shadjam, and has also unearthed rare Panchamantya ragas.
Saraswati Rane (October 4, 1913 - October 10, 2006) was an Indian classical singer in the Hindustani Classical genre. She was a daughter of Ustad Abdul Karim Khan (1872–1937), the founder of Kirana Gharana. Her family had a long and great music tradition.
The correct transcription of her name is Sarasvati, in ancient sanskrit exists no "w". The last syllable leaves a possible root to the origin, maybe the name has something to do with mountain (vat).
