Hi, my name is Rosalina and I was adopted from Russia when I was 4. My adoptive mother told me my name meant beautiful rose but can't find that meaning anywhere. I've only found "little rose", "weak horse", "gentle horse". I'd really hope gentle horse is not it haha.
Rosalina is so lovely and so sweet. It's not a common name where I live. I think it sounds nicest when pronounced Roz-uh-leena and not as drawn out as Row-sah-Leena. It's so pretty.
Rosalina is really pretty and I like its meaning - tender rose. It seems really gentle and feminine. In Russia, we have Rozalina or more commonly, Rozaliya but I always thought Rosalina with an s looks nicer and sounds softer. I haven't met anyone with this name yet. I don't feel it's used a lot but I know names with Rose or Ros are used a lot more in Hispanic speaking countries than Eastern Europe where I am from. For short, you can call someone Rose, Lina or Alina which all sound as delicate. It sounds sweet sounding.
This name is really uncommon. I've never met anyone with this name. The only Rosalina I know of is a character on the Naked Brothers Band played by Allie DiMeco. But I would like to know someone who really had this name. It's very beautiful, I loved it since I first heard it. And I don't think it's cutesy or childish. It's gorgeous.
My family is Italian-American, and Rosalina was my great-great-grandmother's name, and my grandmother's name. I am also surprised to see that people think the name is overused. I have never heard of anyone else with it. I like it very much, and would consider using it for a future daughter.

I'm surprised people think this name is overused. I always thought Rosalina was underused, and I find it to be quite beautiful.
Rosalina is the name of Nintendo's newest princess. She makes her debut in Super Mario Galaxy for Wii as a main character helping Mario seach for Princess Peach (as usual). Her full title is 'Rosalina, Princess of the Stars and Mother to the Luma (a species shaped like a star with eyes).'
I love this name, completely. Two good nicknames would be 'Rose' or 'Lena'. However, my sister has convinced me never to use this name after that annoying song 'Rosalina' from the Nickelodeon TV show 'The Naked Brothers Band'.
