Whether it's spelled Rhea, Ria, Riya, or any other spelling, it's an awesome name. Personally, my mythological minded self prefers Rhea and Riya, but Ria is still an amazing name!
My parents gave me the name Ria when I was born in the early 80s, not short for anything just Ria after a character in a programme called The Butterflies in the UK in the late 70s. I love my name now but as a child I was picked on for it like the person said below- vile names like diarrhea etc. I wouldn't change it for the world now, I love it.
My name is Ria. I'm Greek. It is a nickname of my birth name which is Eleftheria. Though my birth name in Greek means freedom, it's a long name and not so easy to call a little girl by that. Therefore my mother "cut it off" and that is my name. I find it quick, cute and quite rare.
Sabine Wren from Star Wars Rebels used this name as a pseudonym while infiltrating an Imperial Academy (very brief mention, you have to be really listening to pick it up).

The name Ria was given to 84 girls born in the US in 2015.
My name is Victoria, and I wanted a more dangerous sounding name during my rebellious teenage years, so I used Ria.

Ria is my given birth name (although it's often shortened to Ree). People always comment how it's pretty and short and sweet and I only know of 2 others locally so it's not massively common. However, please do think seriously before considering using this for your daughter: As a small child and as an adult it is fine but expect taunts during the teenage years of "diarrhea" and "gonorrhea" (yes teenagers are so mature - not!). However those are my only 2 reasons for not liking my name. Otherwise as far as names go, it's not too bad...
My name is Ria, well my real name is Maria, but I go by Ria. I love the nickname! My mom said that if she had known that everyone was going to call me Ria, she would have just named me Ria.
This is also a nickname for Victoria. If my name was Victoria I'd wanna be called Ria and not Vi like many people are because that is also the nickname of Violet.

This name is also often used in Limburgish (mainly for women born well before 1980).
My grandmother's name is Marie, but when she was a teenager she went by Ria. Except she spelt it Rhea. But I think if it's spelt like Rhea, it can easily be made fun of, i.e. Rhea diarhea. Yeah gross. But I've heard it be done before.
Ria is a very calm, quiet and petite name just like the girl who has it. The name suits someone who is blonde and shy but has her own cool things about her and a wonderful personality!
