I met a little girl with this name. Hers was actually pronounced ree-OH-nuh. I think it’s a very mature, formal name befitting a Queen in a fantasy novel, and not super suited to a child. She went by Rio, which I think is adorable.

I like this name. It's both cool and pretty sounding. Ríona is lovely as a name on it's own, but it's a tad too popular for my tastes (in Ireland, I mean). So, I'd use it as a nickname for the gorgeous Alastríona.

This is a really beautiful and elegant name. I have never met a Riona before but it would be awesome to see this name around more often. Gorgeous. I also like a variant spelling such as Rhiona.
