Ren is the name of one of Ai's assistants in the anime, manga, and Japanese TV drama Hell Girl. He is so awesome. =D
It's already been said, but the first person I think of when I hear the name "Ren" is Ren McCormick from the famous Broadway play and movie "Footloose."(Exchange from Broadway Play, during song "On Any Sunday", between Ren and Rev. Moore)"This morning we welcome to our parish two new souls, just arrived from Chicago! Ethel McCormick, and her son. Ron is it?"(mumbled) "Ren.""Hm? Speak up, let the Lord hear your voice!""Ren! Ren McCormick.""Ren, interesting name. Is it short for something?"(curtly) "No."
The name Ren is also used by the main female character in the Japanese Manga DearS. It is an abbreviation of her true name, which is Ren Ren Ren Nagusaran Rensia Roroonren Nakora. In the DearS language, Ren means "zero" or "nothing". She is very beautiful and sweet, so I like it very much.
