Reina Tanaka is a Japanese pop-rock singer and a member of the Japanese rock band Lovendor. Her professional first name is written in hiragana to distinguish her from the Japanese actress Rena Tanaka, whose name is written using the same kanji, who is also from Fukuoka Prefecture. She is a former member of idol group Morning Musume.
To my knowledge, in Latin America this name is traditionally given to girls born on January 6th in honor of the Epiphany.Personally, I think this is a beautiful name.

It sounds good, but it's too associated with the Spanish word for queen, and I think Queen as a name is ridiculous and repugnant.
I'm super picky with names, and I really like Reina. Good all around. Works in many different languages, sounds pretty, isn't boring and has a certain zing to it. If I ever have a daughter, this will be her name.
This name is more common in South American countries and is rare in Spain (largely because it literally means "queen" and Spain is a constitutional monarchy with an actual queen). According to Spain's Instituto Nacional de Estadística website, there are 355 women in Spain called Reina, 287 of whom are foreigners, mostly from Bolivia, Cuba and the Dominican Republic. However the compound name María Reina has some use in Spain, but is still rare.

I like this name. It has a very elegant, queenly (pun intended) sound to it.
I was very surprised to meet a Japanese college student named Reina. She said since coming to the USA, people think because of the name that she is Latina; and she said her parents didn't know the name meant "queen" in Spanish, they just thought "reina" sounds pretty. I didn't like the name Reina until I met this young woman. She looked and acted like she deserved to be called a queen.
Well my name is Reina and I am Puerto Rican. The strongest meaning behind the name is power, not only because it means queen, but it is a bold and well-delivered name.
