If you take a good look at the number of black people with this name, you can find out why this a predominant black name (with no offense to any ethnicity). But overall, this is an awesome name.
My nephew is named Reggie. When we first heard via text that was his name, we all burst out laughing. It’s such a comical name for a baby, and I do feel bad for him. Love my nephew but I’m not sure what his parents were thinking. They have already had many people assume his full name is Reginald.
Reginald "Reggie" Watts is an American comedian, actor, beatboxer, and musician. His improvised musical sets are created using only his voice, a keyboard, and a looping machine. Watts refers to himself as a "disinformationist" who aims to disorient his audience in a comedic fashion. He appeared on the IFC series Comedy Bang! Bang! And leads the house band for The Late Late Show with James Corden.
I am a Transgender fellow, and my new name has been Reggie for some time. It's really a nice name, because it is simple, though it does have a dash of humour in it. I really like this name, because it reminds me of myself. :)
Reggie was a CHARACTER from the film "The Nutty Professor". TO BE SPECIFIC, he was the COMEDIAN who made fun of the audience so that OTHER people in the audience would laugh! It was the CHARACTER BUDDY LOVE who turned the tables on him by LAUGHING LOUDLY and then MAKING JOKES about Reggie! AND CONSEQUENTLY Buddy Love caused Reggie to GET INSIDE the piano that was on the stage! This was my FAVOURITE part of the film! SO it DOESN`T make sense for Sherman Klump to fight against Buddy Love!
I've known more women named Reggie than men. I don't like the name much, but I wouldn't go as far as calling it hideous. It's just dated. It makes me think of names like Randy and Jerry.
