This name is everything I like- a vintage name that hasn’t ‘come back’, long and dignified, reminiscent of a Victorian gentleman, it has a good nickname (Ralph/Ralphie, I don’t like Randy, no offense), and although it isn’t used anymore it’s still familiar and easy to say/spell. Also, as a Tolkien fan, I love that rhymes with Gandalf.
"Randolph" is my birth name. "Randy" is my nickname. Over 20 years ago I took an oath to 'support and defend the Constitution of the United States' and I'm grateful and proud of that. I'm a son, big brother, uncle, godfather and father. I do my best to continue contributing to my society through charities and nonprofit organizations. I would never openly express dislike of anyone else's name.
Ugh, this sounds like one of those old-fashioned and pompous names elitist parents would give their sons back in the 40s and 50s. However, the nickname Randy just sounds quite trashy.
