This is the quintessential Viking name. Not because of the characters in the shows "Vikings" and "The Last Kingdom" - rather, those characters were given the name Ragnar because of the impression it imparts. It's a lot to live up to.
In the book and television series, The Last Kingdom, Ragnar is the name of two major Viking characters including Uthred's adoptive father, viking noble and military leader, "Ragnar the Fearless," and adoptive brother, subsequently also a military leader, often called "Young Ragnar." Both are portrayed as honorable characters, which is dissimilar from most of the Vikings portrayed.
Ragnar Lothbrok is the main character of the television show "Vikings" for the first few seasons.

Ragnar "Raggi" Þórhallsson is an Icelandic musician. He is the lead vocalist and guitarist, along with Nanna Bryndís Hilmarsdóttir, of the Icelandic indie folk band Of Monsters and Men.
In 'The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim', this name is consistently pronounced RAG-nar. Like the English word "rag" (tattered piece of cloth) followed by the first syllable of "narwhale" ("nar" rhymes with "car," "bar," "far," etc).
Ragnar the Red, titular character of the song "Ragnar the Red" in 'The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim', is a boastful hero, fond of mead. The song is often performed by bards, being one of about three songs they actually know.
It is very unique!
