I had a teacher with this last name. I don’t know why people think it’s a first name, sounds very surname-ish. It’s even worse on a girl.

If you want a name like this, try Raphael, which sounds similar. Rafferty sounds too outlandish and bizarre.

I don't like the sound of this name to be honest. It sounds a little flustered and old fashioned.

I love this name. I was so unsure of it the first few times I heard it, but it has really grown on me and is now in my top two! I think the nickname Raff is pretty cute. Great boy/man name!
