Rafaela

Rafaela Chacón Nardi (1926 – 2001) was a Cuban poet and educator. She was the author of more than 30 books. In 1971, at the request of UNESCO, she founded Grupo de Expresión Creadora (Creative Expression Group). She directed the Clubes de Promoción a la Lectura (Reading Promotion Clubs) for blind and low vision adolescents in Cuba. She was the recipient of the Alejo Carpentier medal.

Rafaela de Herrera y Torreynosa (1742–1805) is considered a national heroine of Nicaragua, due to her actions in the defense of the Fortress of the Immaculate Conception during the Battle for the Río San Juan de Nicaragua in 1762 against the British forces. She was a Spanish criolla.

Rafaela Zanella is a Brazilian model and beauty pageant titleholder of German and Italian descent. She represented Brazil in the Miss Universe 2006 pageant.

Rafaela Lopes Silva is a Brazilian judoka. She won a gold medal at the 2013 World Judo Championships and at the 2016 Summer Olympics in the –57 kg weight division. Currently, she occupies the graduation third sergeant in the Navy of Brazil and integrates the Center of Physical Education Admiral Nunes, the Military Sports Department.
